Build and AI Safety Notice
Effective August 3, 2026. HydroPip content is educational and does not replace qualified local advice. Questions: info@hydropip.com.
Locate utilities and private lines
Public utility marking may not identify private irrigation, septic, electrical, gas, or water lines. Identify those separately. Follow local rules, permits, setbacks, and property restrictions.
Structural and tool safety
Assess wind, soil, drainage, tower height, pipe depth, overhead hazards, and access before installation. Use tools only as intended, wear appropriate eye, hand, foot, and hearing protection, and get qualified help when a task exceeds your experience. Keep children and bystanders away from driving, cutting, electrical, and lifting work.
Water and electricity
Water and electricity can cause serious injury or death. Use only outdoor-rated pumps, cords, timers, and weather-resistant enclosures connected to GFCI-protected power. Keep plugs, smart plugs, adapters, and cord connections elevated, dry, and out of standing water. Use drip loops. Disconnect power before touching pumps, water, cords, or the reservoir. Do not use damaged cords or equipment.
Reservoir and nutrient safety
Use an IBC tote only if its prior contents are documented as food-safe or non-hazardous and the tote has been cleaned appropriately. Do not use totes with unknown history, industrial chemicals, pesticides, petroleum products, solvents, cleaners, or other hazardous contents. When growing edible crops, choose food-contact-appropriate materials and wash produce before eating.
HydroPip nutrient calculations are educational estimates for a fresh reservoir batch, not professional agronomic, food-safety, medical, or chemical-handling advice. Verify all amounts against the nutrient product label, your crop, your water source, and local agricultural guidance before mixing. Do not add a full new dose to a partly used reservoir unless the product label and your own measurements support it. Over-fertilization can injure plants, contaminate runoff, and make edible crops unsafe or poor quality. Store nutrients and pH adjusters away from children and pets, wear appropriate protection, mix only in the recommended order, and never premix concentrated MasterBlend and calcium nitrate together.
Food and pest safety
HydroPip crop, pruning, pest, and harvest guidance is educational and may not match your climate, pest pressure, water quality, crop variety, or local regulations. Consult your local agricultural extension office or qualified horticulture professional for region-specific advice, pesticide suitability, pre-harvest intervals, and food-safety concerns. You are responsible for deciding whether produce is safe to harvest and eat.
AI and reminder limits
Pip can make mistakes. Confirm part fit, nutrient calculations, pH and EC targets, crop recommendations, weather considerations, and maintenance steps. Browser or device notifications can be delayed, blocked, or disabled. Use independent checks for critical watering and equipment operation, especially during heat, travel, pump failure, or established crop production.
Emergency conditions
For electrical hazards, chemical exposure, gas odor, damaged utility lines, serious injury, or other urgent danger, stop work and contact the appropriate emergency service or qualified professional. Do not wait for Pip.
