Privacy Policy

This policy explains how HydroPip collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you visit the website, create an account, use Pip Buddy, manage a grow project, or subscribe to Pip Pro.

Information we collect

We may collect your name, email address, member identifier, account and subscription status, system profile, grow zone, project details, crops, schedules, reminders, readings, grow logs, seed records, conversations with Pip, and information you choose to upload or enter. Wix and its payment providers process payment and billing information; HydroPip does not intentionally store full payment-card numbers.

We also receive ordinary technical data such as browser and device type, IP address, approximate location, pages viewed, referring pages, cookies, and diagnostic or security logs.

How we use information

We use information to operate member accounts; provide and personalize Pip; save projects, conversations, schedules, reminders, and logs; manage subscriptions; provide customer support; secure and troubleshoot the service; measure performance; comply with law; and send service messages. Marketing email is sent only where permitted, and you may unsubscribe from promotional email.

AI processing

Messages and relevant project context may be sent through HydroPip's server to OpenAI to generate Pip's response. HydroPip requests that Responses API application state not be stored. OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default, although limited abuse-monitoring logs may be retained under OpenAI's current API data controls. Do not enter passwords, payment-card numbers, health records, or other sensitive personal information in Pip. AI responses may be retained in HydroPip's database with your project when conversation saving is enabled.

HydroPip records AI usage totals to enforce allowances, control costs, and prevent abuse. Usage records may include a member identifier or a one-way hash of an anonymous visitor's IP address, account tier, answer type, credits used, model, token totals, estimated cost, and timestamps. These metering records do not contain the raw question, uploaded photo, or Pip response.

HydroPip also uses first-party conversion measurement to understand whether visitors open the Field Guide, start Track My Build, ask Pip, begin account or Pip Pro signup, or click an affiliate product link. These records may include a random browser identifier, signed member identifier when available, account tier, page, referring website, campaign tags, product identifier or destination host, and timestamp. Conversion records do not contain Pip questions, chat answers, uploaded photos, payment-card details, or sensitive grow-profile fields.

Service providers and disclosures

HydroPip uses service providers including Wix for website hosting, membership, checkout, and payments; Render for application hosting; OpenAI for AI processing; and other vendors used for security, email, analytics, and operations. These providers may process information on HydroPip's behalf under their own terms and privacy practices. Clicking an Amazon or other retailer link sends you to that third party, which receives information under its own privacy policy.

Growing Adventure game counts

The game offers an optional setting to share anonymous activity counts. It is off by default and can be switched off again in game Settings. If enabled, the game sends only an event name for opens, farm starts, first harvests, first sales, and HydroPip link clicks. We store daily totals, not a player name, email, account ID, session ID, farm save, or device fingerprint. Your choice is stored in your browser. Routine server security logs and a short-lived in-memory rate limit may process the connection IP address, but the game activity report does not store it.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users or the service, investigate fraud or abuse, complete a business transaction, or act with your direction or consent. We do not sell personal information for money.

Cookies and local storage

HydroPip and Wix use cookies and similar storage for login, security, preferences, saved checklist state, analytics, and site operation. Where required, non-essential cookies should not be used until you provide consent through the site's cookie controls.

Retention and security

We retain account and project information while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the service, meet legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain limited backups. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You may update account information through Wix member settings. Signed-in members can delete saved Pip conversations, grow profiles, reminders, seed records, and grow logs from the Pip Pro Account tab. This does not cancel a subscription or delete the underlying Wix member account. You may also request access, correction, export, or deletion by emailing info@hydropip.com. We may need to verify your identity. Rights vary by location, and some records may be retained where legally required.

Children

HydroPip is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. A parent or guardian should supervise any minor using physical build or growing instructions.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above will be revised, and material changes may also be communicated through the site or account email.
